1What are the Steps to File my Tax Return?

1. Gather your tax documents.

2. Upload your tax documents and email info@linkacpa.com that the documents have been uploaded.

3. A Docusign will be sent for you to review and sign your tax return.

4. We will file your tax return with the government.

5. Once it has been accepted we will email you that a copy of your tax return is in Dropbox.

6. Pay any tax balances owed to the government and & invoices to Linka & Associates.

2What is a Tax Organizer?

A tax organizer displays the documents used for your prior year's tax return. You likely need the same documents unless you've changed jobs or financial institutions.

If we filed your taxes the prior year, we will upload a tax organizer to your Dropbox in January. For those we didn't handle the prior year, blank organizers that can be found here.

3What Documents are Needed to File my Taxes?

-A copy of your prior tax return, if not prepared by this office

-Form(s) W-2 (wages, etc.)

- Form(s) 1099 (interest, dividends, etc.)

- Schedule(s) K-1 (income/loss from partnerships, S corporations, etc.)

- Form(s) 1098 (mortgage interest) and property tax statements

- Brokerage statements from stock, bond or other investment transactions

- Closing statements pertaining to real estate transactions

- Form(s) 1099-K (Merchant Card and Third Party Network Payments)

- All other supporting documents (schedules, checkbooks, etc.)

- Any tax notices received from the IRS or other taxing authorities

4Where Do I Upload my Documents?
You will upload your documents to Dropbox.com. You can find a guide on how to use Dropbox here.

5Where's my Tax Return?
Your final tax return will be placed in your Dropbox folder once it has been accepted by the government.
6How Long Does it Take to get my Tax Refund?

If the refund is being directly deposited into your account it will approximately take 6 weeks to be deposited.

If the refund is being sent to you via check it will approximately take about 2-3 months to be sent to you.

1When Do I Renewal my City Taxes?

City taxes vary but they are yearly and often the city will mail you information about your renewal.

LA City taxes are due February 28th and letters are mailed in January. If you would like us to file your LA City taxes, please email us with the letter or postcard.
